UNDERWATER SCULPTURE by(Jason deCaires Taylor)

Quick Biography

Jason deCaires Taylor was born on the 12 August of 1974. He's an English sculptor specialising in the creation of contemporary underwater sculptures which in due time develop into artificial coral reefs. Taylor supplemnt his skills as a conservationist, underwater photographer and scuba diving instructor to engender nonpareil  installations that embounder the habitation and growth of corals and marine life. His up-to-date stint includes Vicissitudes, Grace Reef, The Lost Correspondent and The Unstill Life. All are sited in the world´s first public underwater sculpture park in Molinere Bay, Grenada, West Indies, errand in 2006. More recently his most aspiring project to date is the creation of the world's largest underwater sculpture museum, MUSA, situated off the coast of Cancun and the western coast of Isla Mujeres. Works in the museum include Hombre en llamas (Man on Fire ), La Jardinera de la Esperanza (The Gardener of Hope), El Colecionista de los Sueños (The Dream Collector) and La Evolución Silenciosa(The Silent Evolution)

Underwater sculptures are living reef systems, touching the structures in any form damages the delicate coral life and so is strictly prohibited.
Ways to visit the site are Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Glass bottom boats , Night (scuba diving), Parasailing and Free diving. Curiosity:( free diving in Cancun Marine Park is prohibited without a life vest).
